Excel Serres
Commercial greenhouse
Dahlia system installation
Tomato cultivation
Montérégie

The context
Excel Serres was facing unstable humidity levels in winter across a 0.2-hectare section, an instability directly affecting production yields.

The challenge
Like many commercial greenhouses, Excel Serres relied on ventilation-heating to manage humidity. This approach is dependent on outdoor climate conditions, particularly inefficient and costly during Quebec winters. The solution also had to contend with two significant constraints: limited installation space and restricted available electrical capacity.

Our solution
Bloom Climat installed 100 L/h of dehumidification capacity via Dahlia units, designing the integration in close collaboration with the client to minimise the impact on existing crops.
The energy constraint required a custom approach: Bloom Climat developed an ecosystem leveraging the outdoor winter cold to supply the Dahlia units with the cold water needed for dehumidification. A solution that transforms a Quebec climate constraint into an operational advantage.

The results
Effective removal of excess humidity in winter without energy-intensive HVAC units, by leveraging the outdoor climate as a resource rather than an obstacle.
