The context

Km0 was developing a vertical strawberry cultivation laboratory in a completely closed environment. A pioneering project in Quebec requiring exceptional climate control.

 

The challenge

Artificially recreating the entire climatic cycle of the strawberry: alternating cold and humid conditions, dry phases, and precise transitions between growth stages. The strawberry is a plant with a low margin for error.

 

Our solution

Bloom Climat designed and implemented the entire climate control system, including the development of synergy algorithms between the chosen HVAC equipment and sensors, as well as a cloud-based dashboard with real-time alerts.

 

The results

0.30°C average temperature deviation from the setpoint

0.5% average difference in relative humidity

Reproducible and controlled climate transitions between each growth phase
